CRIME WATCH
AFCA is seeking volunteers to serve on the CRIME WATCH COMMITTEE. We are seeking volunteers to serve a two (2) hour shift on either Friday or Saturday nights. We can do SO MUCH as a community to keep our homes safe. WE NEED YOUR HELP…. IT’S TIME TO GET INVOLVED!!!
Atascocita Forest has an active Crime Watch program which assists during certain times of the year by patrolling the neighborhood and therefore providing extra sets of eyes and ears to detect crime. This type of action on the part of residents is known to reduce crime, theft, and vandalism in any area where it is enacted. Our crime watch normally operates during the summer months and the Christmas Holidays, historically the most active times for the type of activity we are trying to prevent. We need volunteers for our patrols, which are divided into 2-hour shifts on Friday and Saturday nights. The first shift is from 8-10pm and the 2nd shift is from 10-12pm. Our Crime Watch program is a very low-key one. All you need to do is to drive around Atascocita Forest with your cell phone observing the neighborhood for any overt or suspicious activity. If you see anything that needs to be stopped or even investigated, all you need do is call the Constable Precinct 4 dispatch number so that a Constables will come and check the situation out. You are not expected to intervene in a situation or to confront anyone, and in fact are asked not to do so for your own safety. Your job is simply to observe and report. If you would like more information or would like to volunteer for crime watch, please contact the Board. . Click on the button below and find out how you can help. Here are some other simple things you can do to help prevent crime in Atascocita Forest: 1. Know your neighbors. 2. Assist your neighbors by watching their property. 3.
