| About Atascocita Forest Community Association |
|
The Atascocita Forest Community Association is composed of Sections 1 - 18 of the Atascocita Forest plat and Sections 1 - 3 of the Park at Atascocita Forest plat in Harris county. We are a family oriented, deed-restricted community located in NE Harris County at Atascocita Road and Will Clayton Blvd. AF was developed in the mid 1970's by Mellon Mortgage Co. and many of the homes were built during the Houston boom of the 1980's. In the late 1990's the remaining undeveloped land was sold to IraTex developers. Within a year, with the exception of some land along Atascocita road, the undeveloped land was again sold to Long Lake Development. The area which comprises the Atascocita Forest Community Association is built out at this time and includes a total of almost exactly 1600 homes. AF is conveniently located close to US 59, Beltway 8, Hardy Tollway, I-45, FM 1960, Deerbrook Mall, Bush Intercontinental Airport, and lots of area stores and restaurants. We are part of the Humble ISD, with Whispering Pines Elementary and Humble Middle School located within the community. There are lots of recreation activities available to members of the AFCA. We have our own pool and pavilion, a splash pad, a playground area, and a 3-court tennis facility. Also available to residents are a covered basketball pavilion at Whispering Pines Elementary, a crushed-stone track at Humble Middle School, and lots of open areas for general walking and recreation. The AFCA is managed by a Board of Trustees elected from current homeowners. The Board meets monthly at 7:00pm on the 2nd Monday of each month in the CAM offices to conduct the business of the community. An annual meeting of the association is normally held on the 2nd Monday of February. Those of us who have been a part of AFCA for many years can remember when:
